Note: Due proprietary and security clearance restrictions I was unable to take any work examples from this position to be shared in a portfolio. I will describe the work I completed below.

  • Designed ground systems for use with fixturing satellite components during development

  • Designed a pressurized cooling system utilizing Swagelock fittings and tube brazing

  • Designed a mass simulator that required connecting electrical connectors

  • Read and interpreted military specs to determine the correct connectors and mounting procedures

  • Created engineering drawings and documentation for designs

  • Worked with Materials and dynamics departments to determine systems requirements

  • Communicated with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacture and ensure the project is on time  

  • Completed hand calculations to validate designs

  • Attended proof loads of equipment to verify the calculated design loads
